How to become a New York Rose View The 2007 NY Rose of Tralee Selection Ball Brochure
So you want to be a Rose?If you live in New York or the Greater New York area please download a 2008 New York Rose of Tralee Application here.(If you do not live in the NY area, click here to find a Rose Center in your area)
Eligibility Criteria and ApplicationAll entrants must meet the following criteria:
Prize:The New York winner be crowned and titled "The 2008 New York Rose of Tralee." She will be flown to Ireland to compete in the festival, which features contestants from all over the world, and take part in all the festival has to offer - including Nation-wide television coverage and huge press attention.Accommodation and meals will be courtesy of The International Rose of Tralee Festival. For more information on the International Festival click here Deadline for Entry is March 21, 2008 Completed applications, photo and entrant fees must be received by then. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Entrants are initially nominated by local businesses or organizations and many take part in local heats to find one person who will represent the centre in the final. Judges consider many different attributes of the Rose including, in the words of William Mulchinock's song The Rose of Tralee, an indefinable quality that captures "the truth in her eyes". The Rose of Tralee International Festival celebrates modern young women in terms of their aspirations, ambitions, intellect, social responsibility and Irish heritage.
